Another beautiful day..
Steffi und HenningThat was a perfect day! Some surfing at the point in Elandsbay and after a little lunch break the wind started to blow! There were only 4 people surfing the point and the locals were really friendly.

In the afternoon it became quite windy with strong gusts and 4.2 sail... but really nice to sail in clean waves and empty beaches!

Now I m back in town to enjoy the surfing and windsurfing on Cape Towns beaches. On Saturday there is a huge swell ( 20 foot ++ !!!) coming..... Lets see where we can go sailing...

Simply lovin it: Western Australia.

Just as Steffi Wahl comes back to South Africa every European winter, I have returned to my own favorite place for windsurfing: Western Australia.
Starting off on my own was a bit weird, but along the way I have found the most entertaining travelmates, visited good friends from last year, saw some amazing wildlife and have just came back from a week of riding one of the world s longest waves in the north of WestOz. I have been warned that passing on the secret of this break might come back to me as bad luck, so I am afraid you have to find out yourselves...

Wishing every windgirl could once come over here and take it all in by herself. It's truly magic.

South Africa: once again!

I arrived in my choosen winter destination 3 weeks ago and had quite a few nice sessions here in south Africa.
The wind wasn t as constant as it used to be in the last years and some meteorologists talk about a slight El Nino influence.... we will see what happens the next two months.

Anyway I had some really good windsurfing at the West Coast up in Elands Bay with masthigh waves and wind strong enough for 4.2 sail. That was awesome! We were only 6-8 sailors and some surfers. It was no problem to get along with the surfers because the point was breaking far outside... so nobody was angry or stealing anybody s wave.

If there is no wind you can do a lot of other things. We did a sunset cruise boattrip with some friends in big swells with a catamaran. It was a lot of fun and in the end we all had wet trousers....

I will post some more actionpics when the SouthEaster wind back....
STAY TUNED!
