Things to do on Margarita

It has not been too windy the last weeks on Margarita. But even if the island is small we have found out things to do.

1) Read a good book in the sun and get a nice tan...

2) Go out on the water even if it is no wind, there is always something new to learn...

3) Well if you are bored of doing the first two choices, have a beer or two.

But the five latest days have been windy so we do not complain. And the coming days looks good.

CAPE TOWN is on fire for the next couple of days!

The swell is back in South Africa and it should stay here till Thursday! So I m pretty excited whats happening the next couple of days.

Today we had a nice morning session at Sunset Beach with a lots of girls on the water:

Nayra Alonso, Natascha Petersman, Sonja Paevelin and me. On the picture on the left hand side it s me in the back and Nayra in front on her way out to ride the next wave.....

It was fun for 2 hours! The wind picked up and we left the spot to go further north.

In the evening I had a lot of fun between Big Bay and Melkbos with small but really clean waves with some friends. There were only 5 people on the water. Really great!

The next days forecast looks pretty good: new waves are on their way and the southeaster will stay until Wednesday. Let s hope my house mate Bernd keeps on photographing!

Paulina, 14, Hookipa

Paulina Pease is a 14 year old windsurfer from Maui. Her Dad taught her to windsurf several years ago and now it is her favorite sport. In the summer she did the Maui Race Series, and the rest of the year kept learning to ride waves and to jump. Paulina: "Last fall I competed in the Aloha Classic wavesailing contest at Hookipa and it was a lot of fun!"

Here are a few pictures of Paulina at Hookipa on Christmas Day. Paulina: "I would like to thank my sponsors for helping me, they are Hot Sails, SOS custom boards by Sean Ordonez, Da Kine and Pompei Beach. Looking forward to seeing all you girls out on the water!"
