South Africa - surfing and windsurfing

Great days in South Africa around christmas time!
The south easterly wind is blowing all the time and providing us some nice conditions here at the most southwesterly point of the african continent.
The wind is actually so strong that it pushes the sea flat!!! Not really flat, but flatter than the weeks before.
I was sailing with my 3.2 sail already three times this week. Pozo conditions..so good training! But (for me) I have still hard time to jump high in 3.2 overpower conditions......but: I will get used to it!

Today we had a nice moring session at Sunset Beach (check pic above) at around 8.30 with mini- waves... but still a lot of fun!
After that we went to the indian ocean to score some surfing!!! That was actually really great: warm water, shorts and nice little waves breaking in a beautiful sandy bay near Bettys Bay! What a day........ Steffi Wahl

Sick waves in Cape Town

The last couple of days have been really great here at the most southwesterly tip of the african continent:

great sessions at Sunset Beach with 2m waves, a nice evening session in big bay with 2,5 m waves and today howling winds with masthigh sets coming through.

In the end 4.0 was way overpowered but still fun!
We sailed in Hakgat and Uli Hoelzl and me were ripping in between the guys. Lots of fun! Sailing in these conditions was awesome.
I just like the feeling of beeing in rough seas and big swell a lot.
Tomorrow the forecast predicts a lot of wind and smaller waves. STILL GREAT!!!

Little cutback sequence from myself captured from the video. So sorry for the not so nice quality, but it was already late in the afternoon!
Thanks to North Sails and F2 for supporting me!

Stay well and keep going!
