		World Windsurfing Day: Introduce new Windgirls!! On August 16th 2009, windsurfers around the world are invited to head down to the beach and introduce a friend or two to windsurfing, as Starboard introduces the World Windsurfing Day! Jim Drake, inventor of windsurfing: "What a great idea! Celebrating this young sport with a day devoted to recruiting new windsurfers. ... Actually, they do not have to be all that young, I was almost 40 when I first stood on 'Old Yeller' the first windsurfer! ... And there is another attribute I would urge be used in selecting and organizing these firsttime sailors. And that is that each group contain roughly equal numbers of boys and girls -- men and women, if you prefer. This, now, makes the experience a social one, maybe even a dating one. And everyone will be trying their very best. Finally, it never hurts to have a fire laid and ready to light with chilled or warm liquid refreshments nearby. Bon chance."
