(photo left: PWA/Carter) "The PWA proudly confirms that the 2007 Slalom 42 tour will open with another brand new and exciting tour stop in Ulsan, South Korea. The event, in association with the Ulsan Broadcasting Corporation, is scheduled from May 5th to 12th. With a new title race open, and glory at stake, this exciting new location and its attractive 45.000 Euro prize purse is guaranteed to attract the big hitters of the PWAs exclusive Slalom 42 discipline. The event also marks the beginning of another series of cut-throat competition for the womens fleet. Reigning World Champion, and windsurfings undisputed all-round performer Karin Jaggi (F2 / North), is sure to face unparalleled pressure from last years runner up Verena Fauster (F2 / Gaastra) and tactical race specialist Allison Shreeve (F2 / NeilPryde), who are bound to have raised their game in the off-season. Ulsan, a metropolitan city in the south-east of South Korea, is a magnet for Asian windsurfers who visit it for its beach scene, and quality windsurfing conditions. The Sea of Japan resort has hosted many regional events and can now boast winning full international PWA status. The long white sandy beach of Jinha will doubtlessly reward the cream of pro windsurf racers with its favorable spring time trade winds and warm tropical waters."
