![]() Yoli wins Copa ONA With the Copa ONA another exciting contest of the fast growing Venezuelan national Windsurf Tour took place in El Yaque from the 24th-26th of April. In women Freestyle Yoli de Brendt had to win against former Freestyle Worldchampion Colette Guadagnino, who had already won the women Slalom Event. In even more gusty conditions Yoli managed to perform her Shaka, Eslider, Spocks and Switch Moves to win her third Venezuelan Competition in Freestyle. ![]() Freestyle winners Yoli de Brendt & Gollito Estredo Already in Heat one of the mens competition, Cheo Diaz went into a sick Double Forward Loop on Flatwater, just couldn't hold the sail in the landing. Also Douglas Eduardo, Deivis Paternina and Co were on fire in meanwhile pretty gusty and difficult wind conditions. Massive Airflakas, Ponches, Forward Loops, all kind of Switch Moves were not enough in the end to beat actual Freestyle Worldchampion Gollito Estredo, who saved his victory in front of Cheo Diaz with various Double Moves and Cana Brava Combinations. posted by editors at 4/29/2009 02:48:00 PM | (0) comments |

![]() Bryony Shaw joins Climate Project Bryony Shaw, 26, currently the British number one in the RS:X class and winner of the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympic Games, has joined a growing number of world-class athletes as an ambassador for The BLUE Climate and Oceans Project. The BLUE Project was founded in 2007 by triple round the world yachtsman, Conrad Humphreys with the aim to use sport, adventure and human endeavour to inspire people to lead more active lives and contribute to the health of our "Blue" environments. ![]() Bryony: "My sport has gifted me with a connection to my environment which helps me really appreciate truly beautiful places. Being involved with BLUE gives me the opportunity to increase the awareness of windsurfing within the environmental community. I spend my sporting life traveling to beaches and harbours to compete at Olympic Class Windsurfing Events. As a windsurfer we often see first hand the effects of the damage that is being done to our water environments through pollution and damaged coastlines. If we can encourage more people to interact with the oceans, I am sure they will want to do more to protect them." www.bryonyshaw.com , www.theblueproject.org/bryonyshaw posted by editors at 4/24/2009 10:48:00 PM | (0) comments |
