![]() Bryony Shaw joins Climate Project Bryony Shaw, 26, currently the British number one in the RS:X class and winner of the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympic Games, has joined a growing number of world-class athletes as an ambassador for The BLUE Climate and Oceans Project. The BLUE Project was founded in 2007 by triple round the world yachtsman, Conrad Humphreys with the aim to use sport, adventure and human endeavour to inspire people to lead more active lives and contribute to the health of our "Blue" environments. ![]() Bryony: "My sport has gifted me with a connection to my environment which helps me really appreciate truly beautiful places. Being involved with BLUE gives me the opportunity to increase the awareness of windsurfing within the environmental community. I spend my sporting life traveling to beaches and harbours to compete at Olympic Class Windsurfing Events. As a windsurfer we often see first hand the effects of the damage that is being done to our water environments through pollution and damaged coastlines. If we can encourage more people to interact with the oceans, I am sure they will want to do more to protect them." www.bryonyshaw.com , www.theblueproject.org/bryonyshaw posted by editors at 4/24/2009 10:48:00 PM |
